During lockdown, 25 women and their children were rescued from abusive households by a social worker under a special unit of the Delhi Police for Women and Child Protection.
Now residing in another colony, the survivors were in need of basic daily supplies. Mamta, a social worker, a proponent of women empowerment - works for the protection of women against domestic abuse/violence, reached out to us for help and monthly ration support was provided to 25 women and children.
We are glad that we could support these strong women. As they embark on the path of recovery through counselling - we'll sleep better knowing that they have one less thing to worry about and can completely focus on processing their trauma.
"Collaboration between government agencies and NGOs like Sarvahitey are the reason these women do not have to worry about sustenance in these periods"
- Mamta
